2010: ANALYSING THE MAIN CHANGES IN THE GRAND SLAM RANKING DURING THE PAST YEAR

  • Venezuela overtook the lead of the Miss International Ranking after conquering its 6th title! The USA fell to the 2nd place;

  • After 30 years, Germany placed among the semi-finalists of Miss World, returning to the Top 10;

  • Guatemala went 7 notches up after placing in the top 10 of Miss Universe, going from 64th to 71st;

  • Botswana, 72nd, also jumped significantly after placing 2nd in Miss World: up 9 notches;

  • Slovenia, 99th, up 19, was the best mover of the year. Its representative placed 3rd in Miss Supranational.

COUNTRY OF THE YEAR 2010: VENEZUELA

Not even missing the cut in Miss Universe with the very regal Marelisa Gibson, which was a major upset, prevented Venezuela to kick off the 2010's as Country of the Year! Ana Elizabeth Mosquera won another Miss International title for Venezuela and became the second black woman to succeed in the Japanese event. Adriana Vasini took "bronze" in Miss World, while Laksmi Rodríguez was a semi-finalist in Miss Supranational.

Mexico came 2nd after winning its second Miss Universe crown, with Jimena Navarrete, followed by the USA, after it succeed in Miss World, held in China, with Alexandria Mills.
