2011: ANALYSING THE MAIN CHANGES IN THE GRAND SLAM RANKING DURING THE PAST YEAR

  • India, 8th place. exchange places with Finland, then 9th;

  • Up two notches, the Philippines returned to the Top 10, in 10th place. Germany, on the other hand, left the Top 10 for the first time, ranking 12th;

  • Puerto Rico kept on moving up fast, going from 17th to 14th place;

  • Angola and Ecuador moved 18 notches up each, arriving at the 52nd and 53rd positions in the Grand Slam Ranking, respectively; they were the best movers of the year;

  • Mongolia, up 15, was 88th.

COUNTRY OF THE YEAR 2011: VENEZUELA

In 2011 Venezuela remained on top, being named Country of the Year for the second consecutive year, 11th overall! Beautiful Ivian Sarcos won the Miss World title, while Jessica Barboza placed 2nd in Miss International, and Vanessa Gonçalves placed in the Top 15 of Miss Universe. Andrea Carolina del Valle did not place in Miss Supranational.

Even without winning any Grand Slam titles in 2011, Puerto Rico came 2nd after getting great results in all four pageants: 3rd places in Miss World and Miss Supranational, 4th in Miss International, and a Top 15 placement in Miss Universe.

Angola took the bronze medal after winning the Miss Universe title, in Brazil.
