Miss Ghana 2020/2021

Ghana has a new beauty queen and she is Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui, who on Friday, August 21, was crowned Miss Ghana 2020/21. She will represent Ghana at the 70th edition of Miss World, next year.

The 1st and 2nd runners-up were Annalisa Anangfio and Issabella Agbo.

The event happened at the National Theatre, in Accra, and it was streamed on lalafio.com saw. Sixteen finalists battled for the crown.

About the winner

Monique Mawulawe Agbedekpui, 23 years old and a graduate of Blue Crest College, Miss Ghana winner, in an event organized by Exclusive Events Ghana, at the National Theatre, in her own words chose to be part of the Miss Ghana brand because it has shaped a lot of women to become women of substance.

She will volunteer at the Exclusive Events Ghana/Miss Ghana Foundation as well as enjoy a one-year platinum gym membership at Pippa’s Health Centre and other souvenirs from sponsors. And of course, she will represent Ghana in the next edition of Miss World, all expenses paid.

History

Star Nyaniba Annan, Miss Ghana 1959, was the first black woman from Africa to compete in Miss World. Back in 1967, with Araba Martha Vroom, it had its first Miss World semi-finalist. Ghana´s greatest moment of glory so far was when Carranzar Naa Oakiley Shooter placed 3rd in Miss World 2013, won by Megan Young of the Philippines.
