2007: ANALYSING THE MAIN CHANGES IN THE GRAND SLAM RANKING DURING THE PAST YEAR

  • Japan, after its Miss Universe victory, went 3 notches up in the Grand Slam Ranking, reaching the 14th position;

  • Mexico also grew significantly in the GSR in 2007, after winning the Miss International title and being the Country of the Year: it went from 28th to 22nd place, up 6 notches;

  • China, the 2007 Miss World winner, finally made it to the top 50, in 46th place (up 7);

  • Angola went from 86th to 74th place (up 12), but the best mover of the year was Belarus, jumping from 157th to 97th place, up 60, after its 3rd place in Miss International.

With former Miss Universe @lupjones in charge of her country's national organization, Mexico continued to grow in the Grand Slam Ranking, and, in 2007, it was the Country of the Year for the first time. Mexico won the Miss International title with Priscila Perales, while Carolina Morán was the 2nd runner-up in Miss World, and Rosa María Ojeda, competing at home, reached the Top 10 of Miss Universe.

Japan, with the Miss Universe winner and a Miss International semi-finalist, placed 2nd, followed by China, after it conquered its first Miss World and Grand Slam title.

This is how the top nations of 2007 scored in the Grand Slam Ranking:

3) China (3002).
