GB Picks: Miss South Africa 2018
More than 40 former South African beauty queens will gather at Sun International's new flagship Times Square Arena to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Miss South Africa Pageant on Sunday. The reigning Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, is jetting in for the event as a special guest. Twelve young women will compete during the live final shown live on M-NET and Mzansi Magic. (International fans can watch it on the Miss SA Youtube channel a day or two after the pageant.)
To celebrate the special milestone in their history, the Miss South African Pageant will look and feel very different this year. With a new venue, a new creative team and a new format, expect some real excitement. After competing in 3 segments, the group will be narrowed down to a top 5. From these five, the judges will award two titles, Miss Universe South Africa and Miss World South Africa. These two young women will then battle it out in one last round, a final question. The judges will then choose which one of the two will get the crown, prize package and title of Miss South Africa 2018. She will be the one who will spend a year working for the Miss South Africa Organization as her country's nation's number 1 beauty ambassador.
