Excitement High as First Grand Slam of the Year Starts in Myanmar

More than 50 young women have already touched down in Myanmar for the start of the first Grand Slam Pageant of the year, Miss Grand International 2018. During one of the first briefings, which was streamed live on the pageant’s facebook page, Ms. Teresa Chaivisut and the reigning queen Maria Jose Lora told the contestants that they were expecting 81 girls to arrive in Myanmar to compete for the title.

Each girl was giving the opportunity to introduce herself to her fellow contestants. Some of the heavy favorites, like Venezuela, Peru, India, Puerto Rico, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands did not fail to impress. Miss Japan was a pleasant surprise. A nice touch was the a special birthday surprise for Miss Sweden, Hanna Haag, who also looked great.
