Miss Ghana 2018

23 year old Nana Ama Benson from the Central Region of her country was crowned Miss Ghana 2018 last weekend. During the final, she also took home the Miss Elegance title as well as the awards for Beauty With A Purpose, Most Eloquent and Most Disciplined. The new Miss Ghana defeated 9 other contestants to win the title and right to represent her country at the 68th Miss World Contest this November and December in China. Laila Issaka finished in second place, while the the third place went to Elizabeth Mary Maclean.

The Miss Ghana Organization has been plagued by a string of scandals involving former queens alleging sexual exploitation against the organizer, Ms. Ima Patty. Last year’s queen Margaret Derry resigned earlier this year. The organization has vehemently denied the allegations.
