Miss Grand Int´l 2020: the 14-day-quarantine has started for most candidates
The 14-day quarantine period for most of the candidates competing for the title of Miss Grand International 2020 has begun at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel, in Bangkok. All rooms are individual and each candidate received a teddy bear labeled with the flag of their corresponding country and her own name, as a gift from the MGI organization. In videos posted on the MGI Facebook page, the first official quarantine day seems to have gone as smoothly as possible for most international delegates.
Both Miss Grand Colombia, Natalia Manrique, and Miss Grand Venezuela, Eliana Roa, did not hesitate to commend the high-quality food they have been getting, describing it as “delicious”. The well-humored Miss Grand Kenya, Irene Ng’endo, commented that if anyone sees a mess in her room, it is the teddy bear's fault!
Miss Grand Argentina, Mariana Varela, told her fans that she would practice “something secret” for the final show, in addition to doing her exercise routine. Daisy Lezcano of Paraguay mentioned how safe and protected she feels with all the care the candidates have been receiving since the beginning, a thought shared by Miss Grand Spain, Iris Miguelez, who thanked the organization for making sure they feel safe at all times.
Miss Grand Italy, Filomena Venuso, was impressed with the beauty of the “Grand sisters”, inside and out, she met at the airport. She also thanked the gifts she got from the organization, especially the all-popular teddy bear. After a good night of sleep, Chikaodili Nna-Udosen, Miss Grand Nigeria, worked out and answered messages from her friends and relatives back home.
Helen Maher of Scotland made sure to comment on how welcoming and hospitable the Thai people she has met along the way are, something difficult for anyone to disagree with. The hometown girl, Patcharaporn “Nam” Chantarapadit, made it clear that the teddy bear she got is a “she”. Nam is funny and very spontaneous.
Aurra Kharishma, Miss Grand Indonesia, who loves reading, said that she made sure to take a lot of books to Bangkok, so she won´t be bored in her spare time. Miss Grand Chile, Valentina Benavente, will use her available time to take preparation classes for the pageant with Natalie Glebova, Miss Universe 2004, from Canada, who was elected and crowned in Bangkok, 15 years ago!
Tirna Slevin, Miss Grand Ireland, thanked the organization for treating them all like real queens. Denisa Spergerová, Miss Grand Czech Republic, described her long trip from Prague to Bangkok and said she would work out a lot in order to keep her good shape.
In general terms, the candidates seem very happy and comfortable in these first moments of quarantine, getting ready the best possible way for the 2020 Miss Grand International competition!
