In 1994 a star and a pageant powerhouse were born. The star, of course, is Aishwarya Rai, perhaps the most extraordinarily stunning woman to have ever stepped on a beauty pageant runway, crowned Miss World that year. She went on to shine not only in Bollywood, but also in Hollywood! The powerhouse, of course, is India, which in addition to Miss World, had also won the Miss Universe title that year, with the classy, smart and vibrant Sushmita Sen. India's accomplishment in 1994 was extraordinary, but there was much more to come. Eye on it as India starts raising in the Grand Slam Ranking, becoming a main power in the field. Indian candidates have mesmerized us all with the perfect combination of beauty, brains and spirituality ever since. Namaste !
