Miss Universe Philippines 2020

Under a new organization and national pageant, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 was elected last week, at the Cordillera Convention Hall,in Baguio, Benguet. 46 candidates competed in an event broacast by GMA Network, and the winner was Rabiya Mateo, 23, from from Iloilo, and the daughter of an Indian-American father and a Filipina mother.

A licensed therapist, she graduated cum laude from IloIlo Doctors’ College, in 2018, and taught at review centers in different provinces in the Philippines. During the pandemic, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 has been busy helping front-liners through various volunteer work.

Ysabella Roxas Ysmael, from Parañaque, was the 1st runner-up, Michele Theresa Imperial Gumabao, from Quezon City, was the 2nd runner-up, Pauline Amelinckx, Miss Bohol, was the 3rd runner-up, and Kimberly Hakenson, Miss Cavite, finished as 4th runner-up.
