Chelsi Smith Foundation Started in Honor of Late Miss Universe
Earlier this month, the sad news that Miss USA and Miss Universe 1995, Chelsi Smith had passed away after a long battle with cancer was announced. In honor of the late beauty queen, her former publicist, Jarrod Klawinsky, started the Chelsi Smith Foundation to continue the good work the beauty was passionate about.
We are pleased to announce the formation of The Chelsi Smith Foundation.
Throughout Chelsi’s incredible life, she was a champion of the underprivileged and the less fortunate. In her nearly twenty-five years of public and social service, she vigorously fought for women’s empowerment, the protection of children, and was a fierce advocate for the LGBTQ community. While we mourn the loss of this indomitable spirit, her family and Board of Directors hope that in establishing this foundation, we will continue her legacy for years to come. The primary goal of The Chelsi Smith Foundation is to make grants and awards available to those charities and initiatives Chelsi worked tirelessly to promote.
Her public memorial and the foundation's initial capital fundraising event is planned for Sunday, October 7, 2018.
We have received requests on how to assist with honoring her life and memory. Donations may made by clicking the link below or by visitingChelsiSmithFoundation.org.
For those able to attend, you may RSVP at events@chelsismithfoundation.org. Space is limited but we will do our best to accommodate all requests. You will receive a confirmation e-mail detailing arrival time and location within the coming days.
On behalf of the family and Board of Directors, we thank you for your wishes and condolences.
Regards,
Jarrod Klawinsky, Interim President
