Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018

Miss Rincón, Kiara Ortega, is the winner of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018. Miss Vega Baja, Alejandra Pagán, placed 2nd, while Miss Ponce, Alexandra Porrata, was third.

Although Puerto Rico has 5 Miss Universe winners, which means less titles only than the US and Venezuela, since 2013 no woman from this Caribbean island has placed even among the Top 16 quarter-finalists of MU.

Under a new organization - Wapa TV - and with the help of Miss Universe 2001 from Puerto Rico, Denise Quiñones, it hopes to get back on its feet by competing strongly at Miss Universe, and it could easily happen in Bangkok, on December 17th: the new Miss Universe Puerto Rico confirmed her status as favorite by being the chosen one.

Among the winner´s prizes is a brand new car and a trip to France to represent L´Oreal at the Paris Fashion Week in the upcoming days.

The First Lady of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Beatriz Rosello, was present at the event held at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce.
