Historic win for Trans Community as Ponce Claims the Miss Universe Spain title

26 year old Angela Ponce made history for the LGBTQ community when she became the first trans woman to win her country's Miss Universe Spain title. She will continue to breaking ground when she steps on the Miss Universe stage, which will also be a first for this 67 year old competition. Ponce said her mission will be to teach the world a lesson about respect for yourself and others with her new title. Miriam Paredas finished in second place, while Sheila Monjas was named the second runner-up. Raquel Arias and Vanesa Fernandez finished in fourth and fifth places respectively.
