Bb Pilipinas 2018: Unstoppable Gray Makes History
With a brand new set of glittering crowns, the Philippines crowned their queens for 2018 last night. 24 year old Catriona Gray made history at the Smart Araneta Coliseum when she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2018 at the conclusion of the 55th Binibining Pilipinas Pageant. The 1.78m beauty was of course Miss World Philippines 2016 and placed 4th at the 66th Miss World contest in the United States. Now she will have another shot as glory as she competes for the 67th Miss Universe title later this year. The unstoppable Gray won almost every award including Miss Ever Bilena, JAG Denim Queen and Best in National Costume, Swimsuit and Long Gown.
20 year old Maria Athisa Manalo was crowned Miss International Philippines 2018 and will represent her country at the 58th Miss International Beauty Pageant this November in Japan.
It was third time lucky for 23 year old Jehza Huelar as she finally won a crown, landing the Miss Supranational Philippines title. She stands 1.68m tall and will represent her country at the 10th Miss Supranational Pageant in Poland this December.
Eva Patalinjug was crowned Miss Grand Philippines 2018 and will travel to Myanmar to become the Philippines' first Miss Grand International on October 25th. She stands 1.69m tall.
Michele Gumabao (25, 1.75m) and Karen Gallman (25, 1.67m) won the titles of Miss Globe Philippines and Miss Intercontinental Philippines respectively. Vickie Rushton was named the first runner-up and Samantha Bernardo was named the second runner-up.
GB Opinion: We love the new Miss Universe Philippines and believe that she could win a fourth Miss Universe title for her country! We do feel, however, that Michele Gumabao should have been given a higher title. She's gorgeous! Congratulations to the new queens of the Philippines and we wish you well.
