Philippines wins its 4th Miss Universe title in Thailand!

Exactly two years after placing 4th in Miss World, Catriona Gray of the Philippines won the Miss Universe title in Bangkok, Thailand. It was the Philippines´ 4th Miss Universe victory (the others happened in 1969, 1973 and 2015).

The new Miss Universe beat out 93 other hopefuls, including runner-up Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green and the 2nd runner-up, Miss Venezuela Sthefany Gutiérrez.

As expected, it was a fierce battle between Philippines and South Africa, which was decided only in the final Q&A portion of the competition, when Miss South Africa got nervous and could not deliver a complete answer for Steve Harvey´s question. Miss Philippines did a better job answering the same question and won.

The other two finalists were Misses Vietnam and Puerto Rico.
