Miss Venezuela 2018

During Miss Universe days, not much attention was paid to the election of the new Miss Venezuela. The popular national pageant happened on Thursday in Caracas and the winner was Isabella Rodriguez, 25, Miss Portuguesa. She hails from Petare, the largest slum in Caracas, where half a million people live.

Without the legendary Osmel Sousa, who is now responsible for another national contest called “El Concurso”, or “The Pageant”, it had a simpler production, also a result of the economic and political crises Venezuela currently faces.

The new queen will represent Venezuela in Miss World 2019. The Venezuelan representative for Miss Universe 2019 will be elected in April in a different event, also organized by Grupo Cisneros.
