Katarina Rodrigues, a 26 year old model from Davao City, was crowned Miss World Philippines 2018 at the conclusion of a glittering ceremony attended by a Miss World delegation, including the reigning queen Manushi Chhillar and CEO Julia Morley. The 1.70-m beauty is no stranger to beauty pageants. During the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 Pageant, she was crowned Miss Intercontinental Philippines and finished as runner-up at Miss Intercontinental 2017. She was also 2nd runner-up in Asia’s Next Top Model 2014.

"My heart cannot be fuller than tonight, to walk the stage again for all of our nation, competing to wear the Philippine sash over my heart one more time - and this time for the world," Rodriguez posted on her social media account on the day before her crowning.

The new Miss World Philippines was prepared to compete by Aces & Queens training camp.

She will now start preparing to represent the Philippines at Miss World 2018 on December 8th in Sanya, China

Other titles that were awarded on the night were:

Alyssa Muhlach Alvarez was named Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018

Maureen Montagne was named Miss Eco Philippines 2018

Kimilei Mugford was named Miss Multinational Philippines 2018

Chanel Morales and Pearl Hung finished as the first and second runners-up respectively.
