Miss Universe Welcomed Home in True South African Style
Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, touched down in Johannesburg earlier today for her week long homecoming. Nel-Peters, who is only the second woman ever from South Africa to win the title, looked resplendent in red as she was greeted by hundreds of fans who made their way to the OR Tambo Airport very early in the morning.
Speaking to the audience, the 22 year old beauty said that she was overwhelmed by the support and reiterated that her victory was a victory for South Africa. She continued by telling the audience that she wants this moment to serve as a message for young South Africans that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. Nel-Peters will kick off her tour in Johannesburg before moving on to Cape Town and her hometown, Sedgefield.
