Miss Grand International 2017 in Vietnam – Official Press Conference
Vong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the Ministry authorized Lasta Multimedia to cooperate with Miss Grand International for the hosting of this year’s event.
HANOI, April 17 — The official press conference to announce details of the realization of the 5th edition of Miss Grand International in Vietnam took place on Monday at the Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel, with the participation of reigning MGI Ariska Putri Pertiwii, her runner-ups Nicole Cordoves, Supaporn Malisorn, Madison Berrios and Michelle Leon, as well as MGI organizers Mr Nawat Itsaragrisil (President) and Ms. Teresa Chaivisut (Vice President).
Lasta Multimedia Joint-Stock Company (JSC) was granted the official hosting rights for the Miss Grand International 2017 competition. Mr. Tran Minh Tien, chairman of Lasta Multimedia, received a symbolic certificate from Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil.
The contest is scheduled to start on October 5th, with the final gala to be held October 25th, live from the Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Villas Convention Hall. The contestants will visit Ho Chi Minh City for the first leg of the pageant, then travel to Quang Binh province (Oct. 8-13), home to the world-famous Son Doong cave; and finally head to the resort island of Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province) where the swimsuit and preliminary competitions will take place as well as the final gala. The National costume competition will be held in Quang Binh.
At the same time, Miss Grand Vietnam 2017 was officially presented: She is model and actress Nguyen Tran Huyen My (22) who will welcome 90 contestants from all over the planet for the fifth edition of Miss Grand International.
Miss Grand International is one of the five most prestigious beauty contest in the world today, and it is a member of the “Grand Slam of Beauty Pageants” which gathers the planet’s finest beauty events.
Organizers hope that the realization of the event will contribute to promote a positive image of Vietnam to the world, as well as presenting the country as a top-notch tourism destination. Tourism officials informed that the cost of hosting the beauty tournament in Vietnam is around 50 billion VND (USD 2.2 million). Vinpearl Resorts is one of the main sponsors.
