Miss World 2017: More Delegates Confirmed

Miss World has started in China and while we are still waiting to see how many delegates there will be this year, a few more have been confirmed. 

CAPE VERDE

Cristilene dos Santos, Miss Cape Verde 2016, has been named as her island nation's representative at this year's Miss World contest. If she makes it to China, it will be their first outing at Miss World in 7 years. 

GEORGIA

Ketino Shekelashvili (23) has been selected to represent Georgia this year. The 1.76m dancer competed for the Miss Georgia title in 2015, finishing in 5th place. Now she will get a shot at bringing home the crown for her country later this year. 

HONG KONG

Emily Wong, who placed third in this year's Miss Hong Kong contest, will represent Hong Kong at this year's Miss World contest. It will be the first time that they compete since 2014. 

LIBERIA

Liberia is back at Miss World for the first time since 2009. Wokie Dolo (25) has already arrived in China to represent her country. She stands 1.7m tall. 

MACAU

Wang Lin Lan (25) was chosen to represent Macau this year, marking the Chinese territory's return for the first time since 2012. 

MADAGASCAR

19 year old Felana Tirindraza is Madagcascar's first entrant in Miss World since 2011. She stands 1.75m tall and is a student of journalism. 

ZAMBIA

Mary Chibula (22), the second runner-up to dethroned Miss Zambia 2016, will represent her country at this year's Miss World contest. 

WITHDRAWALS: 

Malaysia's participations seems to be in doubt this year as no representative has been announced as of yet. Following the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico, they are also out of this year's contest. The Czech Republic will not have a delegate this year and a new franchise holder will take over next year. Other countries who will not be sending a delegates this year are Belarus, the Congo (DR), Haiti, Latvia, Sierra Leone, St. Lucia, Uganda and the US Virgin Islands.
