Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico 2022
Three new Puerto Rican beauty sovereigns were crowned by the outgoing queens, Karla Guilfú, Vivianie Diaz Arroyo, and Natalia Colón.
San Juan, Puerto Rico - The representatives of the towns of Dorado, Ponce and San Sebastián, Oxana Rivera (Miss Grand Puerto Rico), Ariette Banchs (Miss Supranational Puerto Rico) and Paola González (Miss International Puerto Rico), were crowned this Sunday as the new sovereigns of the Puerto Rican beauty of Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico 2022.
The organization of Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico together with its president, Miguel R. Deliz, Nicole M. Colón, director, Valeria Vázquez, project manager, and ABC Puerto Rico, celebrated in high style this year´s edition of Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico 2022 at the Alejandro Tapia y Rivera theater, in old San Juan, broadcast live on ABC Puerto Rico and digital platforms.
The fastest-growing national and long-awaited beauty gala in Puerto Rico was hosted by television presenters Víctor Santiago, Nicole Marie Colón, Yaimar Marrero, and Kimberly Santiago, talents from ABC Puerto Rico, and commentator Erick Negrón.
The jury that had the difficult task of evaluating several aspects including poise and presence on the catwalk, was made up of eleven personalities. These were the lawyer and president of the jury Desireé del Río, Dr. Néstor Gómez; medical director of Metro Pavia Health System, MUPR 2016 and Miss Grand Puerto Rico 2017, model and businesswoman, Brenda Azaria Jiménez; Miss International 2014, model and businesswoman, Valerie Hernández; businessman Javier Joglar; Andrés Ramírez de Arellano, president and CEO of Telecinco inc; Miss Supranational Puerto Rico 2019, Shaleyka Vélez; comedian and broadcaster Danilo Beaucham, Douce Gerena, CEO of Splash Swmwear, José Alfredo Galarza, businessman and Mister Supranational Puerto Rico 2018 and Fernando Álvarez, first runner-up of Mr. World 2016, international model and businessman.
At 7pm, the contest began with the 23 candidates wearing beautiful trousseaus designed by Estudio Efren. The musical number included the participation of the Almas Band, which served as the opening ceremony for the evening dress parade. The staging of choreographies was in charge of the talented Eleot Cartagena. The evening continued with parades in swimwear from the Splash Swimwear firm.
The top 14 was made up of the following candidates: Miss Yauco, Gabriela Cintrón, Miss Ponce, Ariette Banch, Miss Dorado, Oxana Rivera, Miss Salinas, Yomaira Eliss Cruz, Miss San Sebastián, Paola González, Miss Vega Baja, Andrea Pabón, Miss Caguas, Jaimar Cruz, Miss Guaynabo, Sarahi Figueroa, Miss Río Grande, Lityaret Hernández, Miss Cataño, Hailey Borrero, Miss Arroyo, Lissette Santiago, Miss Guánica, Lismari Ortíz, Miss Moca, Ana Karina Badillo, Miss San Juan, Lilliriel Rivera.
After the parade in evening dress, the 7 selected semifinalists were Miss Dorado, Oxana Rivera, Miss Ponce, Ariette Banch, Miss San Sebastián, Paola González, Miss Arroyo, Lissette Santiago, Miss Guaynabo, Sarahi Figueroa, Miss Caguas, Jainar Cruz, Miss Río Grande, Lityaret Hernández, winner of the ABC News challenge.
Then they had to answer some questions on various local and international social issues.
The judges made up their minds and results were:
The fourth runner-up was Miss Río Grande, the 3rd runner-up was Miss Caguas, the 2nd runner-up was Miss Arroyo, and the 1st runner-up was Miss Guaynabo.
The 3 winners came from the cities of Ponce, Dorado and San Sebastián, and they were: Miss Supranational Puerto Rico 2022, Ariette Banchs, Miss Grand Puerto Rico 2022, Oxana Rivera, and Miss International Puerto Rico 2022, Paola González. All 3 will be representing our island of enchantment in Poland, Indonesia and Japan, in their respective Grand Slam challenges.
