Dominican Republic is the winner of Mister International 2022
Manu Franco, an actor and model from the Dominican Republic, was elected the 14th Mister International during the finals of the pageant held on October 30th, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. This was the first edition of the pageant held after the passing of its president and creator, Alan Sim. Thirty-five candidates competed for the title.
After being elected the 14th Mister International, Franco wrote on his social media: “I am the first Dominican to win a male Grand Slam title! Thanks to all people who have supported me”. In the female Grand Slam, the Dominican Republic has won the following titles: Miss World 1982, with Mariasela Álvarez, and Miss Universe 2003, with Amelia Vega. Anea Garcia won the Miss Grand International title in 2015, however, she did not complete her reign.

What does the future bring?
Right after the conclusion of Mister International 2022, some controversy was raised as two parties claim to have the right to continue promoting the competition: Manuel Deldio from the Philippines, who organized this year´s contest, and Pradit Pradinunt, president of Mister Global. Both claim that Alan Sim wished for them to give continuation to Mister International. Unfortunately, the matter might have to be resolved in a law court, which is very unfortunate to the memory of Alan Sim. We will keep you posted on any development regarding this matter.
