Miss World Netherlands 2022
This year the finals of Miss World Netherlands took place at De Koning Events, in Amsterdam, with a breathtaking decoration by Wedding Professionals. The finalists were dressed by Anna Xqclusive (with brandmarks MarcCain, JoshV, Nikkie, Ted Baker, Liujo, and Guess). The cocktail, evening gown, and bridal wear (the delegates were dressed by Chic & Holland) rounds helped in defining the results. Not only that, and most importantly, they´ve also faced Q&A rounds and presented their Beauty With a Purpose projects.
The winner of BWAP is Alisha van den Berg, with SDG1 poverty and Period Poverty, which in the Netherlands is getting a bigger issue day after day.
Miss World Netherlands 2022 is Amber Koelewijn, who presented a cyberbullying BWAP project. Amber is 17 years old. She is a national gymnast and studies Beauty and Health Care.
The first runner-up, Nova Cheyen, is also 17 years old and went national with her project fighting street intimidation.
The 2nd runner-up, Robey Bruin, was active in the prevention of mental healthcare. Robey herself has faced depression, so she wanted to be a voice for those struggling with it.
Among the judges was Simone Filipini, the chairwoman of the United Nations of the Netherlands and SDG's. Other judges were Tanja Jess, actress and presenter, Chris Tap, a sculpture artist who has many of his works sold worldwide. One of his latest works has been sold to Rihana! Lizzy Dobbe, Miss World Netherlands 2021, and the beauty and styling director, Saida Chekour were also VIP judges. Rosini van Wijk, the national costume designer, and teacher in etiquette and posture rounded out this prestigious group.
The new Miss World Netherlands will now be prepared by her national director and team to compete at the 71st Miss World festival, in 2023.
