Miss Grand Int´l 2020: so far 4 countries have aced the MGI Placement Ranking. Which ones?
Miss Grand International has a short but powerful history. Created in 2013, it has quickly become quite trendy among pageant fans around the globe, and a lot has happened ever since. A total of 135 nations and territories have participated in the contest since its inception, out of which, 25 have been present in all editions.
Nevertheless, four countries hold an impressive record: they have all placed in the 7 concluded editions of Miss Grand International (100%). They are Australia, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Venezuela. Out of these four nations, three have in addition conquered the golden crown: Australia (2015), Puerto Rico (2013), and Venezuela (2019).
Australia, however, will no longer hold a perfect placement record after the 2020 edition is concluded: due to that country´s travel restrictions, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, there is no Australian delegate competing in Miss Grand International 2020.
Brazil and Mexico, with 6 out of 7 possible placements between 2013 and 2019, come next, with an 85.7% placement record. Peru, another Latin American nation, followed them, with 5 out of 7 (71. 4%). Let us remind you that Peru has already conquered one title, in 2017.
Other 10 delegations have placed in over half of the years that MGI has happened (4 out of 7, 57.1%). They are: Costa Rica, Cuba (1 winner), Dominican Republic (1 dethroned winner), Indonesia (1 winner), Japan, Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
Spain and Ukraine (which is not represented in 2020) lead in the European continent. Paraguay, the other country which has also won the MGI title once, has placed on three occasions (42.9%)
