Miss Grand Int´l 2020: Teresa Chaivisut talks about Valentina´s Figuera reign
In the final rehearsal, while Valentina Figuera, Miss Grand International 2019, practices her farewell speech and can´t avoid going into tears, Teresa Chaivisut, vice-president of Miss Grand International, holds back her own, but enthusiastically applauds the reigning queen just like a proud mother would do it with her daughter.
"When Valentina was elected Miss Grand International at just 19 years old, I wondered if she would be mature enough for such a responsibility. It ended up that the world was hit by the unexpected coronavirus pandemic and Valentina had an even more challenging reign, the longest ever: 17 months and 2 days. The truth is that she was impeccable at every moment", guarantees the woman responsible for caring for and accompanying Miss Grand International in her official commitments.
"When Valentina won, she was a bud of rose. This rose blossomed and became even more beautiful and charming. The girl became a woman and I can only hope that she will succeed in everything she sets out to do in life, never forgetting her family MGI ".
The MGI vice-president says she is sorry that Valentina missed the opportunity to visit several countries, like previous queens. “However, she traveled quite a lot within Thailand, attending a few regional contests leading to the Miss Grand Thailand finale and several other events”.
Teresa also comments that the Venezuelan beauty queen has always been responsible, professional, attentive, and passionate about her work. When asked what she expects from the next winner, Chaivisut does not hesitate to answer: "May she have the same sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, charisma, resilience, and maturity as Valentina. If so, the title will be in great hands", she concludes.
Miss Grand International 2020 will be elected this Saturday, at 7 PM, Thailand time, live on Grand TV.
