MGI 2021: candidates will take home great memories from their days in Phuket!
This Sunday, the candidates for the title of Miss Grand International 2021 will leave Phuket, the magical Thai island that will surely remain in the memory and in the hearts of these young ladies, heading to exciting Bangkok. In addition to many rehearsals and official presentations, the 59 candidates had many moments of leisure and relaxation, as well as having the opportunity to learn more about the local history, culinary and culture.
Both rehearsals and activities started around 8:30 in the morning. Candidates began to descend for breakfast, most of them already produced for what was to come, just before 7 am. Curaçao, Puerto Rico, and Paraguay used to be the first ones to eat breakfast.
Speaking of eating, they had several opportunities to sample the local cuisine, such as the 15 candidates who dined at the HEH Cafe. With breathtaking views amidst nature, the 59 candidates sampled local delights at the Nern Khao View Talay restaurant.
There were also serious and emotional moments, such as the visit to the Tsunami Memorial, paying honor to the victims of a tragic event that devastated several areas of the Thai coast in late 2004. Thousands of people died at the time.
In a more relaxed moment, they had dinner at DIBUKA, where they also danced the night away, having fun to the sound of great hits of the moment! How about some adventure like sky walking at HANUMAN WORLD, followed by a special lunch at Three Monkey Restaurant? The MGI candidates loved it!
There were many emotions and revelations during the LIVE TALK, an opportunity that the fans had to get to know the candidates better. This time, it was the fans who loved it!
Not to mention the countless activities they were provided with at Old Farm Phuket, such as learning how to grow rice, cooking delicious desserts and learning about local dances.
They had a very fancy dinner at Royal Phuket, and they paid a visit to some of the beaches and paradise islands for which Phuket is world famous, such as Banana Beach! This was an absolutely unforgettable day!
And there was also all the magic of the Loy Krathong Festival, at the Pier restaurant. Known as the Thai Festival of Lights, it pays homage to the goddess of water and the Buddha. The candidates lit candles and placed them in the sea, living a true tradition of the Siam kingdom!
Without a doubt, Miss Grand International is one of the Grand Slam contests that offer some of the most incredible cultural activities to its participants. Only one will win the golden crown, but all will carry home experiences of a lifetime!
