Earning over 10,000 points in a single year, the Philippines jumped from 10th to 5th place in the Grand Slam Ranking, joining the Top 5 elite group for the first time;
Puerto Rico, up 2, was then very close to the Top 10, in 12th place;
Argentina, down 1, 21st, left the Top 20 for the first time in decades;
Ecuador, up 2, 49th, debuted in the Top 50;
Myanmar, which moved from 158th to 120th place, up 38 notches, was the best mover of the year.

* @meganbata became the first Miss World, in Bali; * Mutya Datul won the Miss Supranational title, in Belarus. Also a first! * In Miss International, it kept on collecting titles, as Bea Santiago was the judges' choice in Tokyo; * In addition to three Grand Slam victories in one year, an impressive record, the Philippines placed 4th both in Miss Universe, with Ariella Arida, and in the GS newcomer, Miss Grand International, with Annalie Forbes.
What a remarkable year for the Philippines, Country of the Year 2013!!!
Puerto Rico, with the Miss Grand International winner and placements in Universe, Supranational and International, was 2nd. Venezuela, with the Miss Universe winner and placements in Grand and Supra, was 3rd.
