Miss South Africa 2019
Zozibini Tunzi was the surprising (and surprised) winner of Miss South Africa 2019. The final event happened at Sun Arena, on August 9th. We must add that she was a positive surprised: Zozibini performed incredibly well and deserved to take gold. She will represent South Africa in Miss Universe 2019.
Zozibini is a 25-year-old completing her BTech in PR from Cape Town. Her role models are her parents and Caster Semenya, whom she’d love to meet. Zozibini is a hard-core Marvel fan, was a Game of Thrones addict and enjoys eating out.
Sixteen women competed for South Africa´s major national beauty title as finalists.
Sasha Lee, who finished 2nd and will compete in Miss World 2019, in London, on December 14th, and Zozibini, were the last two ladies left standing after the judges questions and faced the final question.
Zozibini did well in her answer, but ran out of time before she could conclude her answer.
Sasha – “I would advise the president to tell people to embrace their story. And as I stand here, a survivor of sexual abuse, I want to say that today, together, we can take our power back.”
Zozibini – “I am firm believer in education, and I would advise that they push education. We might not be able to do much for elders, but we can do so much for children by starting them early.”
Congratulations!
