The Miss World Organization, led by Julia Morley, Chairman and CEO, has announced the 69th Miss World Final will be held on 7 December 2019, in Thailand. The host city for the final gala has yet to be announced, but it´s the first time Thailand is hosting Miss World.

Delegates from 130 countries are expected to arrive in Thailand on 9 November for the month-long festival. The opening ceremony will be held in Bangkok, and each contestant will then compete in a series of fast track events that will take them on a journey across some of the country’s most spectacular tourism sites taking in its rich cultural heritage.

At the heart of Miss World is its humanitarian programme ‘Beauty With A Purpose’. This global platform inspires and empowers thousands of young women from around the world to use their talents to raise awareness and funds in aid of humanitarian causes that make real and lasting tangible differences to the poor, sick and disadvantaged.

Each year, in addition to championing a project from their home country that’s close to their heart, contestants work in the host country to raise funds for local charities and good causes.

Julia Morley said: “Each year we bring together nations from around the world with a shared sense of purpose. We work with incredible women, which is why I am excited to be in Thailand this year and work with the Thai people to make a difference. We have a spectacular show planned with our partners and will be revealing more details about the month-long festival.”

Tanawat Wansom, Chief Executive Officer of TW Pageants, said: “I am honoured to be chosen as host of the 69th Miss World 2019 by Julia Morley. Thailand will gain tremendous benefits by hosting Miss World for the very first time, from the promotions of tourism and culture, to trade and good publicity. We look forward to working closely with the Miss World team to create a spectacular show that showcases the best of Thailand to the world. We are also very excited to launch the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ Foundation in Thailand this year, in honour of Mrs. Morley’s tremendous humanitarian efforts worldwide.”

Miss World 2019 final show will be broadcast globally to over 100 countries, where viewers will watch as the reigning Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de León, pass the crown to the 69th Miss World in Thailand.

GB comment: Thailand has always done an excellent job when hosting Grand Slam pageants in the past, including Miss Universe and Miss Grand International, and it should not be different with Miss World! It should be exciting and we are all looking forward to it.
