Júlia Horta, 24, 1.75 m-tall, is Miss Brasil Be Emotion (Brazil Universe) 2019. Júlia is a journalist from Juíz de Fora, Minas Gerais, who beat out other 26 state representatives to earn the right to represent Brazil in Miss Universe 2019. It´s the state of Minas Gerais´ 9th Miss Brazil Universe.

Miss Ceará placed 2nd, while Miss São Paulo placed 3rd. Rio Grande do Sul and Rio Grande do Norte were the other two finalists.

Horta has a considerable history in beauty pageants: after placing 5th in Miss Brazil World 2015, she competed in International Queen of Coffee 2016, in Colombia, and was the 1st runner-up. In 2017 she joined Miss Brazil World once again, this time placing 3rd. She went on to represent Brazil in Miss Tourism International, in Malaysia, and placed 5th.

The new Miss Universe Brazil was crowned by outgoing queen Mayra Dias, of Amazonas, also a former Miss Brazil World candidate.

The show, which took place in São Paulo and broadcasted by Band TV, was hosted by Cassio Reis and by former Miss Brazil Universe title holders from 2015, 16, 17 and 18.

Brazil has been placing in Miss Universe for the last 8 consecutive years, but hasn´t won the title since 1968 (51 years). Can Júlia Horta be Brazil´s 3rd Miss Universe?

Congratulations!!

GB opinion: Júlia Horta has plenty of experience, charisma and a modern look which might please the Miss Universe judges. She is a beauty with brains, who will certainly leave her mark in MU. Watch out for her!
