MGI 2019 Review: Nicaragua - Vietnam

Let´s jump to our third group of contestants dreaming to become the next Miss Grand International, starting with Nicaragua…

NICARAGUA - Vanessa de los Ángeles Huerta

The Latinas are really strong in Miss Grand International, and Nicaragua is no exception. A native of the colonial city of León, Vanessa gave her very best when competing in Miss Grand International 2019.

NIGERIA - Favour Oonye Ocheche

The only black African delegate in this year´s contest, Favour did a good job in all areas of the competition. She´s a Top 20 possibility, without a doubt.

PANAMA - Carmen Irina Drayton

The most competitive Panamanian representative in Miss Grand International so far, Carmen always takes the stage by storm, catching all the attention in the room with her great and unique look and vibrant personality. Depending on how she does when holding the microphone, she could even leave behind the top favorites and win the crown. Eye on her!

PARAGUAY - Milena Montserrat Rodríguez

Talk about pressure! After Clara Sosa´s victory in 2018, Paraguay wants to keep the streak going with Milena Montserrat, from Encarnacion. This lovely young woman has put a lot of effort and has many relatives in Caracas to cheer for her, including her 80-year-old grandmom! Isn´t it sweet?

PERU - Camila Namie Escribens

Born of Peruvian parents in Long Beach, USA, the birthplace of the Miss Universe pageant, Camila has her eyes on a second Miss Grand International crown for Peru. She nailed her preliminary gown and swimsuit presentations, with the most spectacular gown of the competition! We truly believe she´s up to the challenge! CROWN ALERT!!!

PHILIPPINES - Samantha Ashley Lo

After a late arrival, Miss Grand Philippines did an amazing job competing in the National Costume Competition. In the Preliminary Competition, though, she wasn´t as strong. It was as if something was distracting her. She has a beautiful face and potential to place well, but at this point, we have a few question marks around Samantha Lo. It feels like anything could happen!

POLAND - Patrycja Woźniak

Miss Grand Poland has a lovely face and sweet personality but was not among the best-prepared delegates for the task. She´s like a “rough diamond”.

PORTUGAL - Laura Emilia Cunha Gameiro

The very elegant Miss Grand Portugal is another discreet candidate who´s playing her game quietly. Whatever happens to her, she can go home knowing that she gave her very best.

PUERTO RICO - Hazel Marie Ortíz Méndez

Hazel can light up the stage every time she hits it! Puerto Rico has an impressive record in Miss Grand International and many believe a 2nd crown could go to this Caribbean island on Friday. She also speaks very well and seems ready for the job. CROWN ALERT!!!

REUNION - Laëtitia Hoareau-Boyer

Brave Laëtitia showed the world that beauty does come in different forms and shapes! When she walked the runway in swimsuit and was majorly applauded by more than 5000 at the Poliedro de Caracas, we all got goose pumps! Shame on her bashers, because the first Miss Grand Reunion left a positive mark and message in the history of MGI. She should be proud of it!

ROMANIA - Ramona Vatamanu

Ramona has a very friendly personality and is certainly enjoying her experience in Caracas.

RUSSIA - Kamilla Uralovna Khusainova

What a refined beauty and nice young woman Miss Grand Russia is! We did not get her “going round and round” when she was about to finish her preliminary gown presentation. That was uncalled for, and we hope it won´t hurt her chances to advance.

SOUTH AFRICA - Belindé Bella Schreuder

After going from placing in the Top 5 of Miss United Continents to missing the cut in Miss Supranational, we wonder: how will Miss Grand South Africa, Belindé Schreuder, do in Miss Grand International? A pageant girl who does her homework and prepares, Belindé might be in the Top 20.

SPAIN - Ainara de Santamaría Villamor

Miss Grand Spain has a stunningly beautiful face and is without a doubt one of the most strong European contenders this year (along with the Czech Republic). She performed very well in the preliminary competition and will compete strongly on Friday night.

SWEDEN - Clara Linnea Wahlqvist

Tall, beautiful and charming, Miss Grand Sweden has been growing in the competition. Can she pull a surprise and place in the Top 20?

THAILAND - Arayha Suparurk

Coco, as she´s called, had her best moment in the competition in the Preliminaries. Her triple twist when walking the runway in swimsuit, was approved by many, and her smile is enchanting. We were not sure about her up to yesterday´s competition, but now it´s clear that the Thai representative will fight for a Top 10 or even a Top 5 spot.

UKRAINE - Viktoriya Myronova

Viktoriya is quite beautiful and could be a quarter-finalist. Again: there are many competitive candidates this year, which means that it´s hard to predict how far she will go.

USA - Emily Irene Delgado

Emily, the US representative who comes from Las Vegas, has as her main asset her great stage presence.

VENEZUELA - Valentina Figuera

Whenever Valentina Figuera appears on stage, the locals go wild! A native of the state of Anzoategui, this 19-year-old model has a lot on her shoulders: to represent her country when it hosts an international Grand Slam pageant for the first time! Her face is beautiful and fresh, she presented herself with confidence and power in all competitions, and thousands will be pushing her when she competes on Friday night at the mythic Poliedro de Caracas. All we can say is… CROWN ALERT!!!

VIETNAM - Nguyễn Hà Kiều Loan

Her daring “gown” production (in dazzling yellow hot pants) may or may not have worked for her. It will depend on the judges´ taste. Vietnam usually competes with power in Miss Grand International and this girl is no exception. We believe she will be in the Top 20.
