MGI 2019 Review: Albania - El Salvador
As usual, Global Beauties has a difficult task when reviewing the performances of all candidates throughout the competition. Who can win the title? Who will go far in the competition? And who will need to “beat the odds” in order to advance? Here are our thoughts on this year´s candidates, starting with group 1, going from Albania to El Salvador:
ALBANIA - Xhensila Shaba
Pretty Miss Albania had its best moment in the competition walking the runway in her stunning white gown, during the preliminaries.
ARMENIA - Liana «Lily» Sargsyan
Armenia debuted in Miss Grand International in 2019, something that Lalaine might be remembered for: she made history for her country, regardless of what happens next Friday night.
AUSTRALIA - Taylor Marlene Curry
In our eyes, this Gold Coast stunner is right on the top of this competition, fighting for the crown. She´s been flawless in all of her presentations, with an incredible stage presence (we were not surprised to learn that she´s a ballroom dancer champion!) and the most perfect pair of legs around! Her personality is also extraordinary. Taylor´s also very popular among Venezuelans, even not being a Latina. CROWN ALERT!!!
BASHKORTOSTAN - Galina Alekseevna Lukina
This Russian subject participated in a Grand Slam pageant for the first time in history here in Venezuela. Her national costume presentation was her highest point, she looked lovely then.
BELARUS - Karina Kiseleva
Karina did a fair job representing Belarus in MGI. Her moves when performing a national dance during the NC competition, were memorable!
BOLIVIA - Natalia Carolina Paz Rojas
A native of the colorful city of Cochabamba, Natalia is perhaps the most competitive candidate Bolivia has ever sent to Miss Grand International. With a beautiful face and confident presentations, we won´t be surprised if she makes to the Top 20.
BRAZIL - Marjorie Marcelle
Stunning and statuesque Miss Brazil is, for many, “the one to beat” in Miss Grand International 2019. With a killer body, sultry and sexy moves on the runway, and a gorgeous face, Miss Brazil has wowed pageant fans all around the world. Marjorie is a hot favorite by now, but not a sure bet: it will all depend on how she performs during the final night. Can she confirm her status of favorite? CROWN ALERT!!!
BULGARIA - Victoria Zahidova Vaseva
25-year-old Victoria Vaseva, a model from Sophia, did not have much time to prepare for MGI, yet, she represented her country nicely.
CANADA - Brianna Plouffe
This sweet young woman who hails from Cowansville, Quebec, has a beautiful face, but lacks when it comes to her runway skills. Lovely, though.
CHILE - Francisca Paz Lavandero Ceballos
Tall and with a body of a supermodel (perhaps a bit too thin for a beauty pageant), Miss Grand Chile has a face to die for and is very pleasant to be around. She has a very positive attitude! Not necessarily a “shoo-in”, Francisca is in the group of candidates fighting for a Top 20 spot.
CHINA - Deng Jiefang
Miss Grand China is quite adorable. Deng is always smiling and has lots of stage presence. She overdid it with her arm movements when walking the runway, though. China could be a nice surprise in the Top 20.
COLOMBIA - Génesis Andrea Quintero Pérez
Génesis comes from a Colombian department which borders Venezuela: Arauca. She has conquered the people of Venezuela with her amazing voice when singing, and a tremendous personality. Add to that a great body. Can she reach the Top 20? It´s a strong group, but she will try to beat the odds and advance.
COSTA RICA - Brenda Giselle Castro Madrigal
There is a “pageant saying” that goes: “Your attitude will determine your altitude”. It perfectly fits Brenda, one of the shortest candidates around, whose great stage presence and stunning face, makes her grow. We believe her gown choice for the preliminary event was not the best, and hope it won´t hurt her chances to advance.
CUBA - Elaine González
Elaine has a luminous smile (we would risk saying that hers is the most beautiful smile in the whole group!) and a very humble and pleasant personality. Her swimsuit performance, though, wasn´t one of the best.
CURAÇAO - Liane Bonofacia
Liane has such poise and elegance, we would be very happy to see her making the cut. But then again: it´s a very strong group and she´s among the ones who will fight hard to advance.
CZECH REPUBLIC - Maria Boichenko
What a classic beauty! Maria is so gorgeous and elegant, we wouldn´t be surprised to see her taking it all! We must keep in mind that Europe has never had a Miss Grand International winner, and Maria has what takes to break such a barrier. Eye on her! CROWN ALERT!!!
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - Stéphanie Liz Bustamante
OK! Here´s an interesting one! She´s not the most talked-about candidate among pageant fans and experts, yet, Stéphanie is so beautiful, discreet in a positive way, and performed so well in the preliminary event, that we now see her as a major contender for the crown! We absolutely love this girl and see her totally “in the game”. CROWN ALERT!!!
ECUADOR - Maria Topic
Another Latin delegate who promises to spice up the stage on the final night is Ecuador´s Maria Topic. Adored by her fans and followers, Maria threw a tremendous show in her national costume presentation! Her preliminary perform could´ve been better, so at this point, we see her a shoo-in for the Top 20, but going further than that will depend on her final night performance.
EGYPT - Esraa Abdelmoneim Abdelmohsen Albelasi
Esraa has exotic (in a good way) facial features and a nice posture on stage. Off the stage, we usually see her on her own, not really mingling with other candidates, which means that she might be shy.
EL SALVADOR - Olga María Flores
Olga is a very beautiful candidate who delivers it well whenever she hits the runway. We bet the judges have a difficult puzzle to solve, trying to decide which delegates will advance to the Top 20! Miss Grand El Salvador is one of such possibilities. Will she make it?
