Esmeralda Lombardin Malleka, 25 and a financial controller and accountant, is Miss International Madagascar 2018. Madagascar participated in Miss International only once before, in 1961, when the pageant was held in Long Beach, California, USA. It happened one year after Madagascar gained independence from France.

It means that Esmeralda will be Madagascar´s first entrant in Miss International in 57 years!

Miss International 2018 will be crowned on November 9th, in Japan.

Welcome back, Madagascar!

GB comment: The African continent has been mostly ignored by Miss International in its long history, both in terms of participant countries and positive results achieved by them. It´s a blessing to see Madagascar competing there. We hope more countries from Africa will join and get fair placements in MI, especially the black women.
