"Rumbo a Miss Universo 2018": understand how Miss Universe Colombia 18 will be chosen

In 2017 Colombia placed 2nd in Miss Universe. How will her successor fair in Bangkok, Thailand?

Colombia will have a special event to select its representative in Miss Universe 2018. Named “Rumbo a Miss Universo 2018”, which could be translated to “Destination Miss Universe 2018”, the telecast event will air on September 30th, featuring 14 delegates competing for the right to represent Colombia in Miss Universe 2018. The winner will not receive the title “Señorita Colombia”, she will just be the representative of Colombia in MU2018, in Thailand. The city of Medellin will host it.

The special event was created to respect Miss Universe Organization´s requirements, which say that all national delegates must be elected by September 30th.

The traditional “Señorita Colombia” contest will happen in Cartagena, as usual, in the month of November. The winner will compete in Miss Universe 2019.
