Miss International Brazil 2018: 1st runner-up to represent Brazil in Japan

Stephanie will represent Brazil in Miss International 2018, but she is not Miss International Brazil 2018, explained the Brazilian pageant´s organizers.

Three days after winning the Miss International Brazil title, Fernanda Recht of Santa Catarina was informed that she will not be able to travel to Japan and compete in Miss International. The reason is her age: she is 27 years old and Miss International´s age limit is 26.

The 1st runner-up, Stephanie Proglhof of São Paulo, takes over the responsibility and will represent Brazil in Miss International 2018, in Tokyo, Japan, on November 9th.

However, and this is very confusing, organizers informed on the pageant´s Facebook page that Fernanda will retain her title and “act as Miss International in Brazil and abroad”. They claim the age limit for Miss International up to 2017 was 27, and “they did not notice the change to 26 in 2018”.

GB comment: This organization made a mistake and the right thing to do would be to officially crown the one who respects the international pageant´s regulation and age limit. We feel very sorry for the original winner, who entered a pageant and won it based on a wrong piece of information, but what is right, is right, and mistakes should be fixed, which means the crown should be given to the rightful queen - the 1st runner-up.
