Following their recent goodwill trip to Cambodia, the Miss Grand International Organization just concluded a mission to the Baqa'a Palestinian Refugee Camp close to Amman, the capital city of Jordan. The reigning Miss Grand International, Ariska Putri Pertiwi, who was recently named Global Beauties' Miss Grand Slam 2016, spent the first few days of September promoting MGI's 'Stop the War and Violence' campaign here and highlighting the plight of these refugees to their global audience. She was joined by the President of the Miss Grand International Organization, Nawat Itsaragrisil.

The Baqa'a refugee camp was created in 1968 and is the largest refugee camp in Jordan. Unofficial figures suggest that close to 200,000 Palestinians who left the West Bank and Gaza Strip following the 1967 Arab Israeli War inhabit this camp.
