Miss Universe Trinidad & Tobago: Drama Galore

It's been a week of high drama for 28 year old Yvonne Clarke who has lost and regained her crown all in a week's time. It seems like all's well that ends well, though, as she is now set to take her spot in the Miss Universe lineup from the end of this week in Las Vegas. Here's a brief timeline of the events: 

October 21, 2017: Yvonne Clarke (28) is crowned Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago at the conclusion of a low key ceremony, marking the country's return to the Miss Universe stage for the first time since 2014. 

October 30, 2017: Clarke is stripped of her title by the organizers claiming that she has breached her contracting by damaging the brand. Runner-up, Martrecia Alleyne, is designated to represent her country. 

October 31, 2017: A tearful Clarke said that she was left to her own devices after franchise holder, Jenny Douglas, stated that there was no money to send her to Miss Universe. Clarke and her sponsor, Fay-Ann Lyons, said they will continue with her preparations and threaten to report Douglas to the Miss Universe Organization. 

November 2, 2017: The Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago Organization releases a statement reinstating Clarke, stating that their differences had been settled. 

November 3, 2017: Fay-Ann Lyons withdraws her sponsorship and wishes Clarke well. 

November 7th 2017: Clarke meets Mayor of San Fernando and reports to the media that her sponsorship had been finalized and that she is registered for the Miss Universe Competition.
