22 year old Nikcy Opheij was named the winner of Miss Nederland 2017 at Studio 21 in Hilversum on Monday night. She stands 1.81m tall and will represent the Netherlands at Miss Universe 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opheij has achieved success in the modelling industry as the winner of Holland's Next Top Model in 2014. The first runner-up was Farrieda Smit.

GB opinion: She's not your conventional type of beauty queen but that might just pay off for the Netherlands. There's something very magnetic about her and it might just work in the new IMG era.
